AMERICAN THERAPY BOOTH COMES TO BLACKSTONE SQUARE
Washington Gateway Main Street is thrilled to be partnering with Julie Ann Otis to present American Therapy and would like to invite you to participate. This civic engagement art installation will be housed in Blackstone Square September 25th through October 1. American Therapy, asks the questions, “How can we make social change by letting go of the noise? How do we hold unbiased, compassionate space for others no matter how much we disagree?"
Bostonians will work out their issues with America, sharing their frustrations and hopes about our current political reality. Artists armed with typewriters, sketchpads and a wealth of compassion will facilitate and create spontaneous work based on these reflections. The art works, ranging from two inches to three feet, will grow into a 200 SF mural over the course of two weeks.
Elected officials and candidates for Boston City Council are being invited to participate in the installation to demonstrate the importance of compassionate listening in political leadership.
